Because software development is a rapidly evolving field, the legal questions and challenges are numerous. Do you know what it means to patent an algorithm? Or how to determine ownership of a product that was generated through AI? There are a lot of grey areas, and the first step to finding solutions and providing answers is to understand what software actually is, and how it is developed. And what better way to learn than by doing it yourself?
During the module Bootcamp Coding and development you will learn the basics of coding, using open source software. Whilst doing that, you will soon realise what the legal implications of your code are and which legal challenges arise. This opens the floor to lively discussions with your trainer and the other attendees – for example about intellectual property, the use of AI and deepfakes, software as a service (SaaS), maintenance and updates, the use of personal data, and other topics. By doing various challenges, you’ll dive into the world of software development and gain invaluable insights in the legal aspects that go hand in hand.
